We are currently looking for our next Marketing-Superstar-in-Training
We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic person to support the growth of Ros Conkie’s Marketing Academy through marketing, admin and sales support. In the long-term, we hope the right person will become a marketing consultant, trainer and coach at the Academy. No marketing experience is necessary, as we can provide all training (since that's what we do and we're very good at it!) but a degree or some customer-facing work experience is desirable although not essential.
This is an exciting time of our business's growth. Over the last few years, Ros Conkie’s Marketing Academy has grown significantly and we're planning similar growth over the next 5 years. This is a great time to join the team and play an instrumental role in the company’s development. You'll be a crucial part of our small team.
Although the business started as a marketing consultancy, we've developed into a training and coaching business. We specialise in small to medium-sized businesses who sell complex or technical products and services, and want to scale up their businesses by doing efficient, effective marketing.
What will you be doing?
To start with, you'll be using our proven processes and methods to generate leads and support customer retention through marketing and sales activities. When you're trained and ready, you'll also be delivering marketing activities for our clients. And one day, we hope you'll be delivering training and mentoring to our clients, teaching others what you've learnt. Initially, most of the tasks will be related to content creation, social media (Linkedin, Facebook and Instagram), email marketing and website development with an emphasis on testing and measuring success to continually improve our methods and strategy. There will also be an element of aftersales and customer support, such as collecting customer feedback and sending materials.
You’ll be working as part of our small but growing team. You'll be fully trained and supported, following the training model we used for our first apprentice, Katie Evans, who completed her apprenticeship with Distinction in 2022. The role doesn't have to involve a formal apprenticeship though. If you're not interested in an apprenticeship qualification then we won't force it on you. Whether you join us as an Apprentice or not, you'll start with a period of intensive marketing training. Are you up for a challenge and a steep learning curve?
Working remotely
We don't have an office because everyone in the business works remotely, so this role will also be working from home. But you won't be left "alone". You'll be fully supported with regular zoom meetings and monthly and quarterly in-person meetings in Bristol/Portishead.
Are we a good fit for you?
We can train you in everything about marketing, so the most important thing is that you have the right attitude. You need to be proactive, keen to learn, and open-minded to different ways of working. We deliver high quality work to our clients so you need to have a strong attention to detail. We also do things differently to the way marketing is traditionally taught, so if you have some prior marketing experience, you may need to throw out what you've learned and do things our way instead of the way you've done it before.
We don't like to blow our own trumpets, but this is a really great opportunity for someone to learn, grow and develop into a marketing superstar. We have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you so we're looking for "a sponge" who is ready and able to absorb it all and run with it. A lot of the work initially will involve content creation so you need to genuinely enjoy writing content and engaging on social media, or you won't enjoy this job. You should also know that there are a lot of marketing systems and software tools. There seems to be a new one every week and every client uses different stuff so you'll need to be happy picking up new software systems and using them.
