Writing a marketing wish-list is easy - I'm sure you could give me loads of ideas for things you could do to grow your business if you had time and money to burn. But how do you know which tasks to prioritise? What will give you the best return on your investment (of both time and money) and in what order should you implement your ideas to maximise ROI?
Your business is different
Just because a marketing activity works brilliantly for one business doesn't mean it will work in the same way for your business. You need to use the right tool for the job. If you’ve ever spent money on marketing activities and found yourself wondering why it didn’t work as well as you’d hoped, you’re probably using the wrong tool.
How do you know which tool is right for the job?
First, you start by deeply understanding the kind of customers you want to attract to your business and mapping out their path to purchase. Taking this strategic approach means we can then plan and implement marketing activities that will maximise results on your bottom line.
Where to start?
I usually start with a free 30-minute call followed by a 2-hour Strategic Sounding Board session. This gives you the opportunity to really start thinking strategically.
Often, my clients use these sessions to answer fundamental strategy questions of “who are you aiming at?” and “what exactly are you offering?”
Some people use Sounding Board sessions to answer questions that have been playing on their mind for a while, like “Do we need to rebrand?” or “Is the campaign/event we’re planning going to pay off?”
Sometimes a Sounding Board session is all a client needs to get the clarity to move their business forward. I like to keep in touch of course, but that's only because I love seeing my clients succeed.
If a client needs more, they usually go one of two ways.
If you have the resources to implement their marketing themselves and only need strategic direction then I'll offer my “Slow Down to Speed Up” programme. This gives you a regular dose of clarity and confidence to move your marketing forwards.
If you need more than that I’ll offer a Prioritised Marketing Action Plan. We’ll spend half a day together going through your current marketing processes and activities and then I’ll put together a plan for how we can step-up your marketing to deliver long-term sales results. After that I can help you implement your action plan and make sure you achieve your marketing and business goals.
